Living Alone
Drinking when you live alone
More and more people live alone nowadays. For many, this is a positive experience. If you're happy - that's great. As far as drinking goes, the same advice applies to you as anyone else.
However, if you're alone because of a relationship break-up or bereavement, you may feel lonely or depressed. If so, there's no reason why you shouldn't enjoy an occasional drink, but be careful you don't use alcohol to try and lift your mood.
Drinking might appear to give you a quick lift, but long term it will only increase feelings of depression. If you're finding it difficult to cope, it's important to get help from your GP.
